Lizzie Nelson lives in the Chicago suburbs with her husband, daughter and dogs. After a career working internationally as a muralist, an arthritis diagnosis led her to rethink a less physical creative path. She has illustrated children's books and created visual collateral for businesses and non-profits. She now writes for the simple pleasure of making people laugh. In her fifties, she is one of a growing number of women writing deliberately about menopause and middle age. In recent years she has written more poetry and encouraged by her inclusion in the Twitter anthology Vss365, she felt the world was ready for Fair to Piddling. In 2021 she published Uncle Bill's Missing Tooth with children's author Grant S. Clark. She also began publishing a series of parody journals beginning with Writing with Jane. Lizzie brings a humorous take on midlife with her unique brand of cheeky British humour.
